This study investigates the 6082 aluminum (Al) alloy with a complex cross-sectional geometry, focusing on the effects of various extrusion parameters on both the microstructure and mechanical properties of the profiles. The primary objective is to identify optimal parameters for the extrusion process. Initially, simulations were conducted to evaluate the temperature, velocity, and stress distributions within the profile under different extrusion temperatures and speeds, providing a foundational reference for subsequent hot extrusion experiments. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was then employed to analyze the microstructural morphology at the interface, the fracture morphology of tensile specimens, and the energy dispersive spectrum results for extruded profiles under various extrusion parameters. This analysis aimed to elucidate the effects of extrusion parameters on the microstructure of aluminum alloy profiles. The mechanical properties of the extruded profiles were assessed through tensile tests conducted at room temperature under varying extrusion conditions. Finally, a multiple linear regression model was utilized for data analysis to investigate the potential correlations between extrusion temperature, extrusion speed, and the performance characteristics of the aluminum alloy profiles. A comprehensive analysis of the hot extrusion experimental data was performed using linear regression algorithms, and the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was applied to ascertain the optimal extrusion parameters, which were determined to be 477.9 °C and 6.1 mm/s.
