| Abstract: |
The article discusses the history of the microwave communications systems. According to the author, the microwave industry is primarily tied to the birth of radar, which was developed at the MIT Radiation Laboratory during World War II. The first demonstration of a microwave ferrite device occurred in 1949. The development of other microwave products such as hollow tube waveguides, hybrids, mixers and ferrite toroidal transformers are also discussed in the article. |
