| Abstract: |
This article reports that multimedia producer Grolier Electronic Publishing Inc. has announced that it has changed its name to Grolier Interactive Inc. to reflect the company's global presence through its merging with European sister company Matra Hachette Multimedia. David Arganbright, president of Grolier Interactive, said that with this name change, Grolier formally acknowledges its expansion from solely publishing reference material to publishing high-quality game and entertainment titles on CD- ROM. The name change and corresponding new logo also update the company's image to reflect Grolier Interactive's offerings online as well as on CD-ROM. Grolier Interactive now publishes and markets entertainment titles as well. These discs combine elements of film genre and game playing to provide the next logical step in multimedia entertainment. Upcoming titles promise to further expand interactive horizons. Additional multimedia CD-ROMs such as Modern Art and World Cup Soccer, produced by Grolier Interactive Europe, reflect the company's commitment to the increasingly cosmopolitan tastes of multimedia users. |
