| Abstract: | Polyester–cotton fiber blending is a common and popular fiber blend in the textile industry due to its main advantage of improved functional properties of clothing and textile products and competitive yarn cost. In this study, blow room and draw frame blended yarns with a fineness of 28Ne were manufactured using a ring spinning system, with blend ratios of polyester–cotton fibers 65:35% to know the impact of blending methods on yarn quality and yarn cost. During blending processes, for both blending method common production machine setting maintained same, produced yarn quality were investigated and yarn production conversion cost studied. Among the blended yarn, blow room blended yarn demonstrates better quality in imperfections, coefficient of variation in tensile strength, coefficient of variation in elongation at break and has almost the same yarn quality in unevenness, coefficient of mass variation and tensile strength with that of draw frame blended yarn. It is found that the yarn produced using the draw frame blending method revealed better yarn cost as compared with that of blow room blending method rather than fibers blending effect, due to low yarn production conversion cost, improved material utilization, and enhanced productivity.
