An analytical method is proposed for the treatment of acoustic scattering problems in the time-domain. It is based on the power-series expansions of the under-determination coefficients and does not involve integration techniques or residue calculations. The method is presented for the case of a penetrable sphere excited by a simple source emanating spherical waves, while its convergence properties are investigated by means of numerical implementations. Application of the developed method for the soft and the hard sphere showcases its adaptability and consistency in obtaining similar results with existing literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
