| Abstract: |
For applications of self-mixing laser sensors, it is very important to measure the optical feedback factor quickly and accurately in the optical feedback regime. In this paper, we propose a method to estimate the optical feedback factor using the slope characteristics of the reconstructed signal near the phase transition in a self-mixing interferometer. The advantage of this method is that it can be applied to various optical feedback levels and the computation time is not affected by the sampling frequency. We show the effectiveness of the proposed method through simulations and experiments with low-cost semiconductor lasers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
