| Abstract: |
This article focuses on the vacuum drying process of rubberwood (Hevea brasiliensis) with pith, examining how different vacuum pressures and temperatures affect drying rate, moisture distribution, color change, residual stress, and shrinkage. Experiments conducted at vacuum levels of 0.02 and 0.04 MPa and temperatures of 40°C, 60°C, and 80°C showed that temperature has a more significant impact on drying rate and residual stress than vacuum pressure, while vacuum level more strongly influences color preservation and moisture gradients in thickness. The study identified 0.04 MPa and 60°C as the optimal drying conditions, balancing drying efficiency, uniform moisture removal, minimal color change, and reduced internal stress. These findings contribute to optimizing vacuum drying parameters for rubberwood to improve its quality and market value. [Extracted from the article] |
