This issue of CrystEngComm, a journal dedicated to the design and understanding of solid-state and crystalline materials, presents research on diverse topics including crystal packing, electron diffraction, and weak interactions in metallo-supramolecular grids. Featured studies explore salt-dependent switching in cucurbituril–antidepressant crystals, second-harmonic generation in hybrid metal chlorides, and pH-regulated structural evolution in coordination polymers. Additional papers address multi-stimuli chromic responses in extended viologen materials, synergistic electronic interactions in catalysts for hydrogen evolution, and thermophysical properties of Er:YAG melts.
