| Abstract: |
The authors discuss interactive collaborative multimedia services. In an effort to improve upon existing cooperative playback services, the authors propose a collaborative media on-demand platform, called Cooperative Media On-Demand on the InterNet (Comodin). The authors state that the system efficiently provides collaborative playbacks on the current Internet infrastructure. It's based on a Content Distribution Network (CDN) and provides interactive and collaborative multimedia services to a synchronous group of clients. CDN-based solutions can be highly effective. Comodin not only improves the media content delivery, which is the main benefit provided by a CDN, but it also increases the performance of the streaming control. |
