Abstract: The article explores the role of British firm AMEC in addressing the technological challenges in the nuclear industry. The author begins by listing the approaches used by AMEC in identifying technology needs, mapping their own technologies and defining the technologies which needs to be developed to meet the challenges in the nuclear sector. Moreover, he describes the four segments in the nuclear industry, which includes new build, reactor support, clean-up and defence, then discusses the approaches employed by AMEC to address the technological challenges in these segments.
