Abstract: The authors reflect on the concept of the multicenter occupational exposure assessment. They discuss how to protect a multicenter international study in occupational epidemiology from disintegrating. They explain the procedures of occupational exposure assessment, including occupational history documentation, and estimation of exposure intensity for the circumstances in occupational histories. They argue that experts need to base their opinions on knowledge generated from studied exposure circumstance.
