| Abstract: |
The authors discuss their plan to update landmark research into the impact of hospital libraries on clinical care. The National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) Middle Atlantic Region (MAR) is replicating the so-called "Rochester Study." The Rochester Study was convened in 1992 to challenge a decision by New York State to not require hospitals to have a library since there was no evidence of their benefit to patient care. The updated study will assess hospital libraries in four U.S. states using focus groups of librarians and interviews and surveys with medical personnel. |
