Abstract: This paper presents several considerations on information security (IS) in Romania, as a member of the European Union and NATO. The stakeholders and their role in information security are thus analyzed. This article also displays some of the most important points of interest on IS. A study about the Romanian legislation and its shortcomings is also available. Finally, some trends, activities, events, security incidents and a comparative analysis on information security (Romania versus other UE and non UE states) are presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
