| Abstract: | The article reports on the completion of the construction of Colby College's (CC) 21 buildings located on Mayflower Hill in Waterville, Maine. The project was started by CC's President Franklin W. Johnson in 1929 and was made possible by financial support from citizens, political leaders and alumni. After Johnson's retirement in 1942, his successor J. Seelye Bixler started fund-raising campaigns for the project and raised seven million dollars. |
