| Abstract: | The article offers information on the possible merger between Conoco Inc. and Du Pont & Co. It is stated that on July 4, 1981, Du Pont chairman Edward Jefferson and Conoco chairman Ralph Bailey had a meeting in which they sealed the agreement on the merger. As stated, Du Pont will pay around 7 billion dollars in cash and stock for Conoco. However, the merger is not certail as the deal has to be accepted by stockholders of both the companies. |
