Abstract: The article offers information on an echo time-shifted acquisition method to remove olefinic fat signal (OFS) and chemical shift artifact from diffusion weighted magnetic resonance images (DWMRI). It discusses the use of the DWMRI for assessment of tissue microstructures that becomes distorted by the presence of OFS. It focuses on the analysis and development of the method during the unreliable image phase of echo planar imaging.
