| Abstract: |
In the context of the global economy, the product market is in a continuous change. In order to be competitive in field of cutting machining, the manufactured products must be of high quality, delivered in as short of a time possible, and at a low cost. The total delivery time for a new product batch machined through cutting depends on a lot of aspects such as the time required for creating the CNC program, testing it, and for the setup of the machine tool. The smaller the batch is, the more these times have a bigger weight in the total amount of time needed to deliver the product. This paper highlights important aspects of cutting down these times using advanced CNC programming functions such subprograms. These increase the efficiency of the CNC program, reduce the size of it, make it more flexible and offer more optimization possibilities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
