| Abstract: | The article discusses the use of Methods Machine Tools Inc.'s Feeler FV-series double-column bridge mill by Elite Tool LLC to effectively machine large parts. Buying a bridge mill with sufficient travel size to accommodate large parts in one set up resulted to the elimination of the need for multiple handlings and led to the shop increasing its efficiency and accuracy. Some features of the bridge mill are discussed including heavily ribbed cast iron components and Y-axis beam. |
