Abstract: Highlights: [•] We developed a LC/MS/MS quantitatation of PS, DHEA and AP levels in different rat brain areas. [•] The sample processing enables the recovery of free and sulphate steroids from brain samples. [•] For the first time pregnenolone sulphate has been quantified in rat brain samples.
