Highlights: [•] Novel Multi-task control system for VSC-HVDC system to achieve power management between two ac systems, ac voltage control at point of common coupling and frequency regulation at the sending end side. [•] Robust control strategies for VSC converters are presented in detail with the proper tuning method for the inner controllers. [•] VSC-HVDC is utilized to participate in frequency regulation in sending end side. [•] The robustness of the multi-task controller is investigated during major disturbances such as ac three phase short circuits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
