Abstract: Highlights: [•] A BODIPY-based green fluorescent probe for sensing HOCl was developed. [•] The probe utilizes HOCl-promoted oxidation of methyl phenyl sulfide to produce a proportional fluorescence response to the concentration of HOCl.
