Highlights: [•] Cr(VI) photocatalytic reduction strongly depends on TiO2 specific surface area. [•] Cr(III)–EDTA complex is a product of the Cr(VI) photocatalytic reduction. [•] Heterogeneous photocatalytic reduction of Cr(VI) studied for the first time by TRMC. [•] Analysis of TRMC for TiO2 with a power decay has been studied for the first time.
