Abstract: The article presents a study on colloids and their role in transporting uranium in groundwater at the Streltsovskoe ore field in the Eastern Transbaikalian Region of Russia. It mentions that deposits of the metallic element are considered possible radioactive objects which can be geologically blocked by country rocks for protecting the biosphere from radioactive contamination. An overview of determining the composition of colloids through x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is also presented.
