Subjects: Cancellous bone, Bone mechanics, Epiphysis, Physiologic strain, Femur
Abstract: The article presents a study which aims to characterise the mechanical properties and strain rate behaviour of cancellous bone under compression loading. The study collected cylindrical cancellous bone samplings on the epiphyses of bovine femoral bones. Result shows that the cancellous bone is strain rate dependent.
