| Abstract: | A literary criticism is presented on the books "Invisible Man," by the African American author Ralph Ellison and "Three Days Before the Shooting: The Unfinished Second Novel," by Ellison and edited by John F. Callahan and Adam Bradley. Particular focus is Ellison's use of writings from the drafts of the "Invisible Man" to create "Three Days Before the Shooting: The Unfinished Second Novel." The latter book's depiction of an African American assassination of a fictional U.S. senator, including in regard to the impact of antifascism on Ellison's writing, is discussed. |
