Abstract:	The article describes the authors' experience in a Global Challenge project for middle school students which asked students to select a global problem such as hunger, gender equality, or the environment, then research the problem, design an action plan, and to find ways to solve the problem. According to the author, the quality of student problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills increased.
