The article discusses three questions on measuring learning including what matters in a contemporary education?, how assess the things that matter?, and how might assessments serve learning? According to the author, four key types of educational goals such as knowledge, basic skills, conceptual understanding, and long-term transfer goals are essential for successful education; assessment should align with educational goals, and should serve to effective learning. |
