The article provides information on products and equipment used in libraries. The Open WorldCat pilot is a year-long initiative that makes library resources available from non-library Web sites. The pilot aims to test the effectiveness of Web search engines in guiding users to library-owned materials, making libraries more visible to Web users. The newest addition to the Libramation family of library automation products is the ACT Easy-Check series. Patrons can independently return materials with ease. OverDrive Inc., a digital library solutions provider of popular eBooks, announced that over 150 publishers have joined its Digital Library Reserve. Dynix has selected ContentWatch as the supplier of filtering software to its broad base of customer libraries. ContentWatch offers a solution for public libraries trying to meet the requirements of the Children's Protection Act. Also, Dynix has announced that it has released Horizon Broadcast Messaging. The new system, offered in partnership with TCN Broadcasting, automatically queries databases to identify users with overdue materials, holds, and fines, while cost-effectively delivering appropriate notifications. Amigos Library Services Inc. announced that it has produced and is currently making available to libraries and cultural institutions nationwide a new preservation education video. |
