The article discusses the need for cohesion and support for writing teachers. Topics include the need for a common curriculum for writing, the use of checklists and rubrics, and teacher collaboration in planning. Also addressed are the role of literacy coaches in supporting writing instruction, the development of professional expertise in teachers, and the use of peer observations. Professional learning workshops are noted. |
