Abstract (English): In this work, referring to the theory of probabilities, at first we check and document the heuristics and cognitive biases presented by engineering students, particularly in telematics engineering students of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) in Mexico City. Second, we discussed the need to address these biases from the knowledge of fast thinking and thinking slowly as a framework proposed by Kahneman and its possible impact on future research in education. Abstract (Spanish): En este trabajo, haciendo referencia a la teoría de probabilidades, en un primer momento comprobamos y documentamos las heurísticas y los sesgos cognitivos que presentan estudiantes de ingeniería, particularmente de la carrera de telemática de una escuela de nivel superior del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) en la Ciudad de México. En segundo lugar, discutimos la necesidad de abordar estos sesgos desde el conocimiento del pensar rápido y del pensar despacio como marco propuesto por Kahneman y su posible impacto en futuras investigaciones en educación.
