Abstract: The article comments on antagonistic arts-based research (ABR). Topics discussed include increase in the productivity of artist–researchers by fostering participant discomfort; hard to define to the socially engaged art because it is not a singular approach to art, manifesting instead in numerous configurations such as pedagogical projects and antagonism versus ethics debate; and supports of ABR the creation, examination & articulation of a multiplicity of approaches to creative practice.
