Abstract: An interview with Mark Anthony Gooden, a professor at Teachers College, Columbia University, and an ASCD author, is presented. He discusses the concept of culturally responsive school leadership (CRSL). He emphasizes the importance of leaders having a critical awareness of systemic inequities in schools and working towards creating more equitable environments. He suggests that leaders should engage in self-reflection, and prioritize culturally responsive leadership throughout school districts.
