Abstract: The authors discuss the results of a survey of academic librarians' perceptions of a data sharing policy and their preferred data management support, as well as the steps to be taken by "College & Research Libraries" with regard to data guidance for authors. They explain the journal's decision regarding the sharing of data by authors. They also describe the open science movement and developments in the practice of data sharing.
