| Abstract (English): | The article analyzes the participation of families in educational centers in Spain and Colombia, and their relationship with legislation. It is concluded that the level of participation in Spain is lower than in Colombia, but all families in both countries are interested in continuing to be part of spaces for collaboration, integration, and education. It is suggested that the corresponding bodies should redefine their role and seek new communication strategies. The need for legislation in Spain to promote family participation is also highlighted.
