The article reflects on the challenges and tensions faced by the Mexican Council of Educational Research (COMIE) in relation to educational research in Mexico. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing the complexity of education as a social phenomenon and a human right, as well as the need to promote collaborative work and knowledge generation. Challenges such as leading the development of mega-projects, using new forms of dissemination and publication of results, developing techniques and instruments based on new technologies, and promoting inclusive perspectives in educational research are mentioned. El artículo reflexiona sobre los desafíos y tensiones que enfrenta el Consejo Mexicano de Investigación Educativa (COMIE) en relación con la investigación educativa en México. Se destaca la importancia de reconocer la complejidad de la educación como fenómeno social y derecho humano, así como la necesidad de promover el trabajo colaborativo y la generación de conocimiento. Se mencionan desafíos como liderar el desarrollo de megaproyectos, utilizar nuevas formas de difusión y divulgación de resultados, desarrollar técnicas e instrumentos basados en nuevas tecnologías y promover miradas inclusivas en la investigación educativa.
