Abstract (English): This article proposes the search and exploration of some of the challenges presented through the postmodern theology of Mark Taylor that uses the postmodern and deconstructionist philosophy of Jacques Derrida, namely: the death of God, and the loss of the individual autonomous of modernity. Dussel's trans-modern perspective provides the philosophical foundation to confront the pendulum thinking between modernism and postmodernism of the Western church. Qualitative-explanatory research will be used with a thematic-systematic approach arguing how the modern dichotomies inverted in Taylor's a/theology do not strictly comply with Derridean deconstruction; and, how, by undoing the binary oppositions with the intervention of Enrique Dussel's transmodern perspective, a synthetic dialectical path could be found between modern and postmodern ecclesiological positions.
