| Abstract: | This article highlights the significance of integrating justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) principles into health professions education (HPE) research. It emphasizes that all research areas are influenced by historical and social contexts, and failing to acknowledge these complexities can lead to the exclusion of diverse perspectives and experiences. The article offers strategies for developing critical awareness and encourages researchers to seek out different stories and perspectives to gain insight into power dynamics and privilege. It emphasizes the need for action to promote social justice. The article also provides guidance on incorporating JEDI principles into the research process, including conceptualization, design, and data analysis. The authors stress the importance of considering diverse perspectives, power dynamics, and social inequalities throughout the research process. They urge researchers to critically reflect on their own positionality and engage with communities of interest to ensure inclusivity and address oppressive structures.
