Abstract (English): The article titled "EXPERT PEER REVIEW: Quality, collegiality, and ethics in academic practices" analyzes the importance and changes in peer review in academic production. Current debates on this practice are discussed, as well as changes in academic publishing rules, such as Nature's proposal to publish peer reviewers' reports alongside articles. The guidelines and evaluation formats of various journals are also analyzed, and alternative proposals are put forward to improve the peer review system. The importance of considering the academic and scientific quality of the argument, as well as the relevance and pertinence of the article in the current debate field, is emphasized. Additionally, it is suggested to include evaluation criteria that promote renewal, theoretical and methodological experimentation, and interdisciplinary dialogue. The need to implement mentoring and support methods to address inequalities in academic knowledge production is recognized, and an invitation is extended to keep the door open in peer review and journal editing.
