Abstract: The article discusses the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) and its focus on managing natural resources in the Maasai Mara game reserve in Kenya. Teams participating in the contest were asked to develop strategies to protect wildlife and natural resources while considering the interests of the local community. The judging process involved multiple rounds, with judges evaluating the teams' modeling process and the clarity of their results and recommendations. Three outstanding papers were identified in the competition, with each team commended for their efforts. The authors of the document are Robert E.
