Dawn The objective of the article is to base education on moral values as the essential core of citizenship education in Cuban primary schools. The bibliographic review allowed us to assume theoretical references that argue the challenge that all primary level teachers must face in coordination with the family and the community, the initial training of the future men and women of the country. When planning the activities, the characteristics of your group and the social and family context in which each of the students develops must be taken into account, as well as the person characteristic. El objetivo del artículo es fundamentar la educación en valores morales como núcleo esencial de la educación ciudadana en la escuela primaria cubana. La revisión bibliográfica permitió asumir referentes teóricos que argumentan el desafío que deben enfrentar todos los maestros de nivel primario en coordinación con la familia y la comunidad, la formación inicial de los futuros hombres y mujeres del país. Se debe tener en cuenta en la planificación de las actividades, las características de su grupo y el contexto social y familiar en que se desenvuelve cada uno de los alumnos, así como sus rasgos personales.
