Abstract: The article discusses the establishment of a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) incubator focused on Clinical Education Research (ClinEdR) to address the underrepresentation of ClinEdR in national research funding schemes. The incubator aims to build research capacity in clinical education, improve visibility of ClinEdR as a career destination, and address systemic barriers in the field. Through various initiatives, the incubator has successfully supported novice researchers, engaged with stakeholders, and influenced funders to prioritize education-focused calls. The article also highlights five papers published in The Clinical Teacher as a result of the incubator's work, providing insights and tools to support growth in ClinEdR research capacity.
