| Abstract (English): | The objective of this article was to analyze the participation of Cesar Prieto Martinez, who served as General Inspector of Education in the state of Paraná, Brazil, from 1920 to 1924, in organizing the exhibitions of primary schools in the city of Curitiba, during the celebrations of the Independence Centennial in 1922. Cesar Prieto Martinez held this position from 1920 to 1924. The text is organized into two parts. The first part seeks to contextualize the political aspects surrounding his hiring to hold the position in Paraná, as well as providing a brief biography of Cesar Prieto Martinez, characterizing his credentials for the position of inspector. The second part, which is the main focus of this article, discusses Martinez's role in organizing the School Exhibitions alluding to the Centennial of Independence in 1922. The theoretical frameworks used for analysis include: Chamon (2002), Moreno (2003), Rivière (1989) and Souza (2004). In addition to cultural history concepts, the study draws on the concept of rite as emphasized by Rivière (1989, 1997). The study consulted historiographical production on education during the period known as the First Republic, documents published by the school inspector found in the historical archive of the Public Archive of Paraná State, and newspapers of the time accessed through the Digital Newspaper Library of the National Library (called Hemeroteca). | Abstract (Spanish): | O objetivo deste artigo foi analisar a participação de Cesar Prieto Martinez, que ocupou o cargo de Inspetor Geral do Ensino no estado do Paraná de 1920 a 1924, na organização das exposições das escolas primárias de Curitiba, por ocasião dos festejos do Centenário da Independência no ano de 1922. O texto está organizado em duas partes. A primeira procura contextualizar aspectos políticos de sua contratação para exercer o cargo no Paraná, bem como uma breve biografia de Cesar Prieto Martinez, caracterizando suas credenciais para ocupar a função de inspetor. A segunda parte e principal temática deste artigo é a discussão da atuação de Martinez na organização das Exposições Escolares alusivas ao Centenário da Independência em 1922. Os seguintes referenciais teóricos para análise foram utilizados: Chamon (2002), Moreno (2003), Rivière (1989) e Souza (2004). Além dos conceitos da história cultural, recorreu-se ao conceito de rito enfatizado por Rivière (1989, 1997). Foram consultados a produção historiográfica da educação referente ao período histórico compreendido como a Primeira República e os documentos divulgados pelo inspetor de ensino, que se encontram disponíveis no acervo histórico do Arquivo Público do estado do Paraná, bem como os jornais da época consultados na Hemeroteca Digital da Biblioteca Nacional. | Abstract (Portuguese): | El objetivo de este artículo fue analizar la participación de Cesar Prieto Martínez, quien ocupó el cargo de Inspector General de Enseñanza en el estado de Paraná, Brasil, entre 1920 y 1924, en la organización de las exposiciones de las escuelas primarias de Curitiba, durante las celebraciones del Centenario de la Independencia en el año 1922. Cesar Prieto Martinez ocupó este cargo entre los años 1920 y 1924. El texto está organizado en dos partes. La primera busca contextualizar aspectos políticos relacionados con su contratación para ejercer el cargo en Paraná, así como una breve biografía de Cesar Prieto Martinez, destacando sus credenciales para ocupar la función de inspector. La segunda parte, y temática principal de este artículo, es la discusión sobre la actuación de Martinez en la organización de las Exposiciones Escolares alusivas al Centenario de la Independencia en 1922. Se utilizaron los siguientes marcos teóricos para el análisis: Chamon (2002), Moreno (2003), Rivière (1989) y Souza (2004). Además de los conceptos de la historia cultural, se recurrió al concepto de rito enfatizado por Rivière (1989, 1997). Fueron consultados la producción historiográfica de la educación referente al período histórico comprendido como la Primera República y los documentos publicados por el inspector de enseñanza, disponibles en el acervo histórico del Archivo Público del estado de Paraná, así como los periódicos de la época consultados en la Hemeroteca Digital de la Biblioteca Nacional.
