| Abstract (Portuguese): | Este artigo apresenta uma breve discussão sobre o pensamento dos filósofos clássicos da Grécia sobre questões sociais e as divergências com os sofistas. O texto tem o objetivo de apresentar os fundamentos da concepção filosófica clássica relacionados com as questões sociais. As divergências entre filósofos e sofistas não se resumem em questões de opiniões acerca da realidade socioeconômica, política e cultual, mas, apresenta pontos de vista sociais opostos que se relacionam com uma fundamentação epistemológica na elaboração, limites, e a relevância dos conteúdos que se apresentam com o status de ciência (filosófica).
