Protagonist of the literary culture of the 19 th century, pugnacious in his so long life, the Slovenian writer Boris Pahor died at the age of 108 years old in 2022 in Trieste, the town where he was born, Austro-Ungarian subject, in 1913. He was a writer of yesterday World, really, and belonged to a little Fatherland of MittelEuropa, Slovenia, inside the cosmopolitan Habsburg World, he grew during Fascist time in Italy and he was a witness and, at the same time, a victim of violence of the totalitarian nationalism. Presenting Pahor in school today is very important because of the lucidity of his literary works, almost unknown in Italy at least until 2008, when Nekropola, his autobiographic novel, began to become famous. This essay wants to present Pahor’s works through the biographic interview written by Tatjana Roic with the author: “So I lived. Biography of a Century”, to show the history of the Slovenian Community in Trieste to young people. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

Protagonista della cultura letteraria del Novecento, combattivo nella sua lunghissima esistenza, lo sloveno Boris Pahor è morto a 108 anni nel 2022 a Trieste, città dove egli era nato suddito austro-ungarico nel 1913. Egli fu scrittore del “mondo di ieri”, appartenente ad una “piccola patria” mitteleuropea, la Slovenia, all’interno del cosmopolita mondo asburgico, cresciuto nell’Italia fascista, testimone e vittima della violenza del nazionalismo totalitario. Presentare Boris Pahor a scuola è molto importante e questo per la lucidità della sua produzione letteraria, quasi sconosciuta in Italia almeno fino al 2008, quando Necropoli cominciò a diventare famosa. Questo articolo vuole presentare l’opera di Pahor anche grazie alla biografia-intervista redatta da Tatjana Roic con l’autore, “Così ho vissuto. Biografia di un secolo”, per mostrare ai giovani la storia della comunità slovena e di Trieste. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
