| Abstract: | ΑBSTRACT: This text aims to highlight the class-differentiated perceptions and practices of mothers from different social backgrounds in supporting their children at school. I will argue that their own school experiences as pupils shape not only how they perceive their role but also how they intervene in relation to their children's education. This is because the mothers' formation of perceptions, expectations and judgements, as to both their role and the school's, is directly linked to the perception of the self as a social subject in an unequal social reality.
