Translation technology brings tremendous changes to China's translation talent cultivation, posing great challenges to MTI supervisors. Their failure to upgrade their translation technology competence will result in the following difficulties: (1) unable to give reasonable advice to students' understanding and planning of the translation profession; (2) unable to meet the teaching demands of translation courses, and (3) unable to organize students'translation practice effectively. The following strategies will facilitate supervisors'enhancement of their translation technology competence: (1) receiving systematic translation technology training; (2) serving temporary positions in language service enterprises; (3) engaging attentively in translation projects, and (4) designing translation technology courses for MTI students.
