| Abstract: | Purpose: This clinical primer aims to equip speech-language pathologists with essential knowledge and tools to identify, evaluate, and manage inducible laryngeal obstruction (ILO), a condition often misdiagnosed. Conclusion: By integrating foundational physiology, consensus terminology, and evidence-based therapeutic strategies, this resource promotes accurate diagnosis and effective intervention, empowering clinicians to better support individuals with ILO. Greater recognition and clinical confidence may enable earlier identification, reduce unnecessary health care utilization, and improve patient outcomes. Although speech-language pathology intervention for ILO is supported by available evidence, a deeper understanding of the physiologic mechanisms driving ILO onset is needed to inform the development of more targeted and/or collaborative therapies.
