Abstract (English): The objective is to interpret the experiences of postgraduates and supervisors from the Graduate Unit of the Faculty of Education Sciences, Universidad Nacional Hermilio Valdizán, Huánuco, Peru, in relation to advice in the preparation of the postgraduate thesis. The interpretive paradigm, qualitative methodological perspective, and hermeneutic phenomenological method were used; six postgraduates and four advisors were interviewed in depth. The interviews were processed with Atlas.ti 23 and the following categories emerged: postgraduates' conception of advising, characteristics of a good advisor, criteria for choosing the advisor, pleasant and unpleasant experiences of advising, postgraduates' recommendations to advisors, reasons for changing advisors, basic aspects to complete the thesis, advisors' conception of thesis advising, reasons for advising, advisors' feelings when postgraduates manage or fail to support the thesis, recommendations to postgraduates [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): El objetivo es interpretar las experiencias de los asesorados y asesores de la Unidad de Posgrado de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación, Universidad Nacional Hermilio Valdizán, Huánuco, Perú, con relación a la asesoría en la elaboración de la tesis de posgrado. Se recurrió al paradigma interpretativo, perspectiva metodológica cualitativa, método fenomenológico hermenéutico, se entrevistó en profundidad a seis asesorados y cuatro asesores. Las entrevistas se procesaron con el Atlas.ti 23 y emergieron las siguientes categorías: concepción de los asesorados sobre la asesoría, características de un buen asesor, criterios para elegir al asesor, experiencias agradables y desagradables de la asesoría, recomendaciones de los asesorados a los asesores, motivos para cambiar de asesor, aspectos básicos para culminar la tesis, concepción de los asesores sobre la asesoría de tesis, motivos para asesorar, sentimientos de los asesores cuando los asesorados logran o no sustentar la tesis, recomendaciones a los asesorados. Abstract (Portuguese): O objetivo é interpretar as experiências de pós-graduandos e orientadores da Unidade de PósGraduação da Faculdade de Ciências da Educação da Universidade Nacional Hermilio Valdizán, Huánuco, Peru, em relação à orientação na elaboração da tese de pós-graduação. Foram utilizados o paradigma interpretativo, a perspectiva metodológica qualitativa e o método fenomenológico hermenêutico; As entrevistas foram processadas no Atlas.ti 23 e emergiram as seguintes categorias: concepção dos pósgraduandos sobre orientação, características de um bom orientador, critérios para escolha do orientador, experiências agradáveis e desagradáveis de orientação, recomendações dos pós-graduandos aos orientadores, motivos para mudança de orientador, aspectos básicos para completar a tese, concepção dos orientadores sobre a orientação da tese, motivos para orientar, sentimentos dos orientadores quando os pós-graduados conseguem ou não apoiar a tese, recomendações para pós-graduados.
