| Abstract (English): | Traditionally, the themes addressed by the history of architecture do not account for the building diversity that constitutes the built city. Recent efforts have been made to focus on non-monumental buildings, from more recent periods, not designed for elites, buildings that compose a significant part of the urban landscape of many Brazilian cities. The study of this production is essential to understand Brazilian architecture in its complexity. In addition to leading to historiographical reflections, this expansion of perspectives is also referred to the need of expending the contents that permeate architecture and urbanism education. This article presents a didactic experience of surveying self-built buildings, which seeks to broaden the view on real city architectures, developed from May to August 2022 in the discipline Theory and Critique of Contemporary Architecture in Latin America of the Architecture and Urbanism course at the Federal University of Uberlândia. | Abstract (Spanish): | Tradicionalmente, los temas abordados por la historia de la arquitectura no reflejan la diversidad edilicia que constituye la ciudad construida. Es reciente la ampliación de los esfuerzos para dirigir la atención hacia los edificios no monumentales, de períodos más recientes, no destinados a las élites, edificios que contribuyen de manera significativa a la constitución del paisaje urbano de muchas de las ciudades brasileñas. El estudio de este trabajo es de fundamental importancia para comprender la arquitectura brasileña en su complejidad. Más allá de llevar a reflexiones de orden historiográfico, esta ampliación de observaciones también remite a la necesidad de ampliar los contenidos que permean la enseñanza de arquitectura y urbanismo. Este artículo presenta una experiencia didáctica de levantamiento de edificaciones autoconstruidas, que busca ampliar la perspectiva sobre las arquitecturas de la ciudad real, desarrollada en la asignatura Teoría y Crítica de la Arquitectura Contemporánea en América Latina del curso de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad Federal de Uberlândia. | Abstract (Portuguese): | Tradicionalmente, os temas abordados pela história da arquitetura não dão conta da diversidade edilícia que constitui a cidade construída. É recente a ampliação dos esforços no sentido de dirigir olhares para as edificações não monumentais, de períodos mais recentes, não destinadas às elites; edifícios que contribuem de maneira significativa para a constituição da paisagem urbana de muitas cidades brasileiras. O estudo dessa produção é de fundamental importância para a compreensão da arquitetura do país em sua complexidade. Para além de levar a reflexões de ordem historiográfica, essa ampliação de olhares remete, também, à necessidade de alargamento dos conteúdos que permeiam o ensino de arquitetura e urbanismo.
