| Abstract: |
Assessing students' understanding of curricular content at both the course and program levels relies heavily on student learning outcomes. Yet, a major obstacle in this process is the need to establish consistent and impartial evaluation methods. This paper aims to address this issue by proposing an assessment method to evaluate student learning outcomes within a civil engineering program. The primary focus of this study is on formative direct assessment, which will serve as a key parameter for analyzing and improving teaching and learning practices in the department. By presenting and utilizing the findings from the direct assessment, the study seeks to foster continuous enhancements in the educational processes to ensure better student outcomes and understanding in the field of civil engineering.
